Hitze, Scrappen und Baustelle

Bei uns ist es immer noch schwül und warm, aber gestern Nacht bin ich doch mal in mein Scrapeck im Hobbyzimmer und habe wieder Karten gemacht.  Tagsüber ist das fast unmöglich, denn durch den Plastikvorhang gegen den Baustellenstaub ist es hier im Zimmer 30 Grad und nur durch einen Venti kriege ich etwas Luftbewegung.  Für uns ist jegliches extrem-Wetter zur Zeit eine Katastrophe, denn die Handwerker können nicht weiter machen.  Und zwei Monate auf einer Baustelle zerren an den Nerven und ich muss mich immer wieder daran erinnern, dass dies eines Tages auch ein Ende haben wird.  Wahrscheinlich genießt man dann das Resultat viel mehr, als wenn es einem fertig vor die Füße geworfen wird.  Und dementsprechend habe ich meine Karten auch auf der Baustelle fotografiert.

Here in the last part of Bavaria it is still very warm and humid, but last night I went into the hobby room to make some cards. During the day, it is almost impossible to work in here, we got plastic Sheets hanging at the entrance to protect our stuff from the construction dust and so it gets really warm inside also.  I got fans going in almost every room to at least have some circulating air.  Living two months on a construction site is stressful and I need to remind myself everyday that this will come to an end one of these days.  I am sure we'll appreciate the results a lot more than if we would have moved into a finished place.  We sorta saw it grow.  And fitting the circumstances, I fotographed my cards outside on the brick wall. 

Und da unser Maurer heute zusammen mit seiner Frau Geburtstag hat, habe ich ihnen eine passende Karte gemacht.

And since today our bricklayer and his wife both have a birthday, I made them a card also.

Ich scrappe wieder

wenn auch nur Karten zur Zeit.  Meine Friseuse aus Würzburg rief mich an, die Kunden vermissen meine Karten.  Ein guter Anlass sich nun ein paar Mal am Tag ins Zimmer zurück zu ziehen.

I am scrapping again, yeah.  My beautician from Würzburg called and told me that her customers are missing my cards.  A good reason to take time during each day and spend some hours in my scrap corner.  Oh, how I had missed that. 

Aber das Zimmer ist ja nun soweit ziemlich fertig, dass ich mich auch wohlfühlen kann.  Es ist zwar schon wieder mal ziemlich "voll", aber ich halte mich streng an das was ich mir vorgenommen habe.  Es werden keine Schnipsel aufgehoben, Restpapiere müssen grösser als 4 x 4 inches sein, ansonsten gehen sie gleich in die Papiertonne. 

The room is just about done to be feeling comfortable in it and I really enjoy getting away a few hours every day now to make cards, finish some albums and do all the things that scrapbooking mean to me.

Nachdem wir hier schon 6 Wochen leben ohne Wohnzimmer, da ist es nicht leicht, Abends auf keiner Couch entspannen zu können.  Zum Glück haben wir einen TV im Schlafzimmer und so ist dieser Raum der zum entspannen, lesen, Filme gucken und auch mal schlafen.

After living here for 6 weeks, the addition finally seems to make progress.  It is like pulling teeth to get the workers to come and work on the house.  That makes it kind of hard on us not having a living room and not being able to relax on the couch in the evening.  We do have a TV in the bedroom and that is where we retreat to. 

Die Tiere haben sich gut eingewöhnt, sind sehr neugierig und schauen gerne beide zur Türe hinaus um zu sehen ob die Arbeiter endlich wieder erschienen sind.  Ab und zu darf Frisky an der Leine raus.  Er soll sich erst an die neue Umgebung draußen gewöhnen wenn unser Wintergarten fertig ist.

Our animals adjusted well to our new surroundings and are very nosy to see what the workers are doing outside.  Every once in a while, Frisky goes out on a leash.  He needs to get used to this new area and we'll let him explore more when the sunroom is finished.

Endlich wieder bloggen....

schon lange war ich nicht mehr auf meinem blog.  Dieser Umzug kostet uns ganz schön Nerven, immer noch warten wir auf die Bauarbeiter die den Anbau fertig stellen sollen und auf den Dachdecker.  Erst danach kann der Elektriker und die Heizfirma kommen.   Aber zuerst möchte ich  den letzten Teil des Umzugs posten, denn nachdem die Umzugsfirma die Sachen abgeladen hatte, mussten Detlef und ich nochmal nach Würzburg.  Wir hatten die Schlüsselübergabe und das Abschiedsessen mit den Kollegen meines Mannes.  Dafür hatte ich sogar nochmal kurz Zeit gefunden um zu scrappen, eine Kleinigkeit für die Kollegen mit Knöpfchen vom Diensthemd, gefüllt mit Merci. 

It's been a while since I had time to blog.  This move is really requiring lots of patience on our part.  We're still waiting for the builders to finish the addition, the roofer to put new tiles on the Roof.  After all that is done, we can finally call the electrician and the heating company.   But first I want to post the last part of the "move", because after the movers had unloaded everything, we had to go back to Würzburg once more to do the closing at the rental and also go to the retirement dinner for Detlef.  For this I even had some time to scrap little presents to give to the cops, using buttons from Detlef's work Shirts.

Ausserdem stand mein Auto noch in Würzburg, so sind wir mit dem Zug hochgefahren.  Ich nutzte diese Gelegenheit natürlich gleich für ein kleines Schlummerchen.

Also, my car was still in Würzburg, so we took the train up there.  A good place to take a nap.

.....und auf gings in die neue Heimat.  Was uns da so alles erwartete, werde ich bald posten.
